Do plants in offices have a positive effect on health?
Reports from the nineteen-eighties indicate that houseplants are able to reduce the level of chemical compounds in the air with the leaves, stems and roots participating in this cleansing process, together with micro-organisms which live in the root zone and the soil. Plants therefore provide managers with an opportunity to improve the often-polluted air in the indoor workplace, as they are able to reduce the negative effects on health caused by poor air quality.
